Oakenhelm Takes me to misty castles, dank caves, and dark dungeons. One of my favorite dungeon synth releases; while not doing anything new, it perfectly encapsulates the genre Favorite track: Ghosts of Avalgon.

sfcr Carnifexian holds up the banner of old school dungeon synth, taking us back to dark medieval times. This album is not re-inventing the genre, but has some great moments. The atmosphere it creates reminds me of Mortiis' "Født til å Herske". Favorite track: The Banners of Empire Will Rise Again.
